Playing at Mr. Mom

Playing at Mr. MomRhonda went back to work today, so I had my first full day alone with Harper and Nick.

The good news is that nobody died or was injured.  If I hadn’t already been staying home with Nick before Harper came, I think today would have been alot harder.  As it is, though… we still have to find our rhythm, but I think it will work out okay.

Nick has been a huge help today, especially considering how sick Harper has  been.  Nick has filled in giving Harper his pacifier (a few times without me even asking, but he thinks I didn’t notice), getting burp cloths and washcloths, and mostly amusing himself.  Unfortunately, the few times Nick needed me were also times that I had my hands full with Harper.

Hopefully we’ll all find our balance soon as Harper gets better and Nick gets a little more self-reliant.

Nick’s already worked past his potty-training regression and become rather fond of Harper, though he doesn’t want anyone to know that he likes the littlest one.  But that’s a post for another day.

No real pearls of parenting wisdom here, other than to hang in there when times get tough and enjoy the time you have with your kids.

And to be excellent to each-other.

I’m working on a larger post to explain where I’ve been the past week or so, including our computer troubles, traveling troubles, and Harper’s health troubles.  I should have it up sometime tomorrow, I’d think.
