I was on full Daddy duty this weekend. As soon as Nick got out of school Friday afternoon, he and I jumped in the car and drove nine hours from Gulfport, MS, to Clermont, FL, for Jude’s birthday. I was slightly worried about having to deal with a cranky five-year old in the car [...] One of the hardest things about moving from Florida to Mississippi was leaving Jude, who was really the only reason I didn’t just move here when Rhonda and I met in the first place. On our last weekend in Florida, three months ago, Jude didn’t really grasp that I wouldn’t be picking him up [...] Jude isn’t mentioned very often in this journal, mostly because Harper – being a baby – consumes the vast majority of my attention. But he’s mentioned even less than Nick, and I think that’s because Jude is the only one of my boys that doesn’t live with me. Instead, he lives with his mom [...]  |
